Apart from the nettles it was only bad in the last half hour. I should of just stopped and put the tube in but having ridden over so much gorse earlier I figured the chances of it holding together doing it in a hurry were slim hence better to push on and keep pumping it up.
Puncture turns out to be high up on the side wall which explains it not sealing and there was only a single thorn needing to be removed. I don't remember catching anything in particular though for the sidewall but the tires are rather light weight. Out not racing I have another wheel set with considerably tougher tires as I know trail centre stuff scuffs up the sidewalls rather quickly.
