I remember November 1991 being on Kauai a month before the 50th anniversary of Pearl Harbor...now our big summer is 45 years ago! And it has been 25 years since that November. When I came here 23 years ago it had only been 22 years since that summer...now its longer on 'this side of time' than before...even meeting Chrissy...it seemed a million years since Duluth when I met her Jan 28, 1984 but it was less than 13 years since that summer....of course the younger you are the longer time is to you...time is time no matter how you look at it or twist it around...it just seems weirder to have a brain that says go run 7 min or faster miles...you can do it...and...well I will not say I can't do it...but...
I just finished a run at Rock hill where we did "440" repeats around the pond 45 years ago.
Is that where the wood chip trail was on edge of UMD campus?
Yup... I run there most days. There's now a two mile figure-8 loop (well, it's been there for decades...)
Jeez that is what I need...the cushion really helps my legs and body from all the pounding and my stride is better too...used to when I got to grass I slowed down but now I speed up....if I was running fast I would slow down now also...but my pavement stride is so horrible that it seems to smooth out on grass. To run on any sort of trail instead of pavement would be great...no I will not move there just for that reason though...if they could build a trail along side the pavement for Grandma's I could possibly run a marathon again...ha
