at least you managed to stay out of the purple x area after #55. on your route I see 3 backtracks right at the edge of the x's. The 3rd one is exactly where I went first but doubled back to where your second attempt was - however, I didnt stop, I plowed through and almost did a loop on myself.

I enjoyed looking at your RG as I was along side you for some of that. The Rogaine is fun as I find it less competitive. I'm just competing with myself, so it was nice to move along some legs with you.

Something else I've learned from Ed Scott (not the phrase but the concept) - Speed is for crap if you cant figure out where your going.
Orienteering is such a balance of skills. It's what keeps me coming back.

Len: I also enjoyed both seeing you (usually running) in the woods and watching our overlaps during the rogaine. I also saw your flirtation with the XXX area. Looks like it forced you into a long run-in without being able to bag another three controls. Your overall plan was a very good one - taken by some of the pros.

Thanks, yes, I was happy with my plan but disappointing with the execution.
After the swamp encounter near 49 I panicked and really felt overwhelmed for a few minutes. finding 49 helped but my attempt at #63 was pathetic and (thinking I was close to it) baled to find 50 which was farther north.
Good experiences to try to learn from.
