Agree! Actually, I was going to do 3 x 1 tempo miles on the gravel track along river des peres tom. am...welcome to join me if it works out. I get burned out on running on the track, esp. if its a slower pace.

not burned out on track yet . . . like the exact distances . . . that way the environment is held constant and I know it is just my fitness being tested . . .

Maplewood track is so different . . . blue!

Good point, the gravel might take a little getting used to. But no left turns for a change.

i don't really care for gravel for anything faster than E. Foot slippage on push off. Tried doing I pace on the gravel in FP and could feel it all the way up the chain. Shoe choice could improve or fix that, but anything good for gravel is not so good for hard surface. I don't have any pure gravel options near the house.

right now St Louis is one of only three regions in the entire US with orange air quality, the other two Raleigh Durham NC is into the red and Phoenix AZ orange . . . why St Louis! I guess the high temps make bad ozone.

actually, i was surprised to see green, you were looking at the forecast, not current condition. may still get to orange, peaks about 5-6pm, seems like st. chaz has been worst lately. current conditions are based on a complicated algorithm that factors in past conditions so generally if its trending upwards, by the time you step outside it will be worse than what you saw, same in reverse if trending downward:

it's all orange forecast today hopefully will die down by 7pm . . . if it is really nasty I will save the 3x1T workout for Thu am.

ps--humidity at 7pm is only 47% so that is pretty tolerable . . .
