I think the fine/detailed nav really slowed this course down. On the bike and trek there seemed to be a lot of small un-mappable features as the clue. In the dark/foggy conditions we spent a lot of time scouring the woods once we got to the circle. We rarely found the flag straight off.

yes, I'd agree. Austin apparently rode the bike course without looking for any controls in 4 hours. It took us over 10 and I doubt we were travelling twice as slow. Lack of solid attackpoints also contributed.
