Subconscious still thinks 84 is a more reasonable time for a 400.
Hah! Dead right Craig.
Honestly, I spent the first 3 reps confusing myself and going 'whoa, that was way too fast' misunderstanding the whole 60s in a minute thing, and then contradicting that with 'nahhhh, I'm not 100% healthy and not trying, it's one hundred and four' - - but still doing it post session!
Too many years of running, say, 20 x 400 aiming for 80s (3:20 pace) which was approximately my goal pace for running races.
It still staggers me that I can remember running 300s with Evo, 200 jog recovery, aiming for 58s. I can still vividly picture the sessions at Kapinara Primary, and having to smash the hell out of every third to get any faster!
Saw Evo at Amy's hockey last weekend. He said he wanted to try to get out to an orienteering event. He had been looking at Malmalling results and remembered really enjoying running out there.
Does it stagger you that you can remember back that far, or do you just stagger a bit because you're getting old?
Neither, it staggers me as it takes my breath away just how awfully slow I am these days, despite still working hard.
Oh good Evo's in another 'wants to do orienteering' phase is he? I'll wait until he asks me for a copy of some random map before even remotely thinking about taking him seriously!
