maybe I'll see you there, the Webster AA 5K is an annual traditional must-do race, just like Turkey Day 3M . . . missed it last year due to out of town college visits. trying to get billy to do it.
yeah, it's hard to pass up a race that starts less than a mile from your house. This will be my 3rd year. Last year it poured for the final mile but the temp was good. I just hope it's not 85F like it was this morning at 7:30. I'll be wearing my glasses with black frames and yellow lenses. Trying for a sub 20 so I'll be starting in the 2nd or 3rd row if I can wedge in....
there are some pretty good runners that show up, usually it is Matt O'Conner who has run sub-15. two years ago some Kenyans who ran for KU (I think) showed up and he bested them! Fun to see them line up at least . . .
i line up behind them. it's impressive, and humbling, to watch them speed off down the road. first year i was too far back and had to fight traffic for the first few hundred meters.
last year there were 88 sub 20 runners. A lot of depth for a medium size local race.
the leg is perhaps 90%, have it iced after Hub ride . . . see how it feels tomorrow morning. if I can convince billy to run, I'll be out there for sure. not like it really matters if I tweak it some more. should be OK with compression.
