Wow. Sounds like a great event. I always get the front of the boat. It's hard to take snack breaks without being noticed up there.
Yes it is!
and, my feet are too close together in the front
and I smash my fingers a lot when the boat gets wider during the stroke vs narrower
and I can't pick our lines in front
and it's harder to zone out with a canoe paddle (or I forget to switch sides)
and
and
and
:-) ... life is tough
Congrats on getting your paddle racing season off to a great start! Too bad the Cruiser didn't work out as well as you'd hoped. Sounds like fun - I'm accustomed to the bow seat anyway.
Who was Team 11?
Don't know who 11 was. It's a pretty friendly event and they apparently rammed a couple of solo's and flipped one... and not like "oops, sorry about that" but more like "get out of our way, we're racing here!"
