About two weeks of proper climbing and I'm starting to feel a bit better. Still slow on the steeper stuff, but it's coming around. Shame I'm not running AC this year, had some proper heat training already as I've been getting some random afternoons off work to run in the teeth of the heat. I did read somewhere that heat helps to mimic altitude, so maybe that'll help for GT.
totally.. i read the same thing about the heat and I totally embrace it. suffering practice if nothing else.
AC is on my list but i guess they are having a big controversy right now. some of the course is now "protective wilderness" and they may have to divert chunks of the course to hwy... so on the road. I saw a bunch of stuff and petitions flying around about it on facebook yesterday.
Saw that by chance on the AC site (not on the FB anymore so I'm often out of the loop). Would be a big shame if the course is ruined. AC is a proper mountain race, definitely overlooked by pretty much anyone that hasn't run it or live in SoCal. Assuming they figure something out with regards to the course and it remains a Hardrock qualifier, I'll be reapplying for 2017. I left a lot out there on that course.
