Found my maps but not the results (I´ve got them somewhere) and noticed I made huge mistakes on both days.
Probably lost at least 10 minutes (#3 and #5) on Day 1 and more like 15 minutes (#2, 6, 9 and 13) on Day 2 - so must have been over 30 minutes behind Ted (who usually won) in the totals...
PS. From the same map binder I noticed that you beat me at the US Champs in French Creek later that fall.
Pretty sure the Fr. Creek '82 A meet (without looking) was a good meet for me - think I beat two of Mike Platt, Peter G and/or Eric Weyman. Not sure why the sand hill O
proved so hard. Ted had no trouble at all - but he was before his time.
Ted & Ron L were 1st and 2nd in the totals.
Eric W was first US runner with you in 2nd and Peter 3rd.
Mikell was 27 seconds ahead of you on Day 1 but DNF´d on Day 2.
Yes, that is what I recall as you provide the info. There was also Chris Hurst from the British team who finished first overall, I think. We ran for some # of points together in the forest one of the days.
Chris Hirst was 4th behind Ted, Ron and Eric...
So much for my recollecting he was the better orienteer, at least at Fr. Ck.
