What a fun trip! How was the opera? Did you wear your Salomon shoes for that? ;))))

Sort of! I wore purple Salomon sandals with a fairly dressy black & white dress. That's probably scandalous in Italy, which has the best shoe stores ever. This wasn't a full opera - just a recital where two singers and a pianist performed pieces from different Puccini operas. It was held in a huge cathedral that dates back more than 1500 years in layers underground. Puccini was baptized there and used to play the organ. The acoustics were incredible! We're not really opera fans but the performers were so talented that we enjoyed it.

I bet they're still talking about those weird Canadians who wear casual shoes to the classical music recital and bike helmets while riding in town;)

1500 years old cathedrals should require bike helmets for safety though?

I sometimes felt that way outside since some of them are surrounded by scaffolding and workers fixing old pieces of stone. Inside, they were more solid than modern buildings.

It would have to be a very fancy, designer bike helmet:)
