It was actually quite pleasant the last 10km. 2:30 might be about the best time to start that ride this time of year. Subject to how much extra traffic builds up at the road crossings.
I hope you didn't run into my car that's parked where the trail crosses The Gore road. I was running late today so drove further... :-(
looking 'forward' to my steamy ride home ...
We saw a car but didn't run into it! (Or recognize it, which is lucky for you since I'd probably have thought up some prank.) Have a great ride!
Glad the rest of your ride was good, Veinbuster.
By the end of the Tour, you'll probably be cheering hard for the winners so that you don't have to ride as long each day! That's an impressive challenge!
I was already there after the six hour stage three - cheering for a good fast breakaway the next day so I wouldn't have to go out as long.
Six hours??!! And you're gonna do this for three weeks?! You the man! I'm impressed! (Now you can't back down, right?)
Saturday will be the biggest challenge for me because I have to take Mrs. to a concert tonight so I'm going to be short of sleep and it is a mountain stage with three big climbs - could take a while.
It's not easy, being "on the Tour" ;)
The riders in France have it easier. People give them free hotel rooms, cook all their meals and give them massages. Also, they aren't allowed to take their wives to concerts during the Tour.
Ha! Yes, taking care of a wife definitely doubles the workload. VB is doing LeTour+
I've been wondering where the team masseuse was.
