How awesome! Jealous about the rental bike. And impressed that you did the whole Mt Ventoux. Very cool.

Nice one, all that work must have felt hard but rewarding too. At then the sweet sweet descent :-)

Merci, merci! I think I would do just fine with a slightly less expensive bike. I certainly didn't want to scratch it. And the descent was awesome! Perhaps it would not be a big deal to someone who regularly rides in mountainous terrain but it was exceptionally fun for me.

ps: I am still somewhat annoyed. I need to figure out how to train for such a climb while living in the southern portion of what is knows as the Great Plains. The most I have are 1min climbs, not 120min climbs.

Without hills and driving hours in serch of hills, Big Gear intervals on a turbo trainer are a solid substitute
