Yikes, I was following the news on Facebook and worrying about you guys!

At the moment, Ontario Tornado Watch is saying "there was a recorded 145km/h wind gust, boat and tree damage, and the storm was associated with a book-end vortex mesocyclone (rotation) on radar".

Also, "We've got quite a bit of evidence that we've emailed Environment Canada's research scientists... [including] some incredible photos with a VERY low and robust shelf cloud, large waves and a low hanging potential rain-wrapped wall cloud/funnel that looks to be reaching the water in one photo. This same storm had a reported and documented wall/funnel cloud just to the northeast of Go Home Bay."

There are some amazing photos and videos on OTW's Facebook page. I think you can see them since it's public.

It usually takes a day or three for Environment Canada to decide whether it was a tornado or something else. Regardless, it was really nasty. Glad you're all OK.

I left my phone behind on my run because I was worried it'd get wet if I got caught in another storm (which I did but nothing major). I wish I had it to take some pictures of the trees all toppled over - roots exposed.

Maybe I'll get out this weekend and get some pics. The good news is the ATV's won't be out ripping up my trails any time soon... but it's hard to get any flow in your run when you have to bushwhack every 100 yards

The Cottage we stayed at near your place lost power immediately upon storm onset Friday and power was still out today. I'm glad to hear you guys are ok, that was a crazy storm.

Will is still without power. We have a gen to keep the fridges running intermittently, but no running water since Friday
... so no impact to him at all, 'cause I think he eats standing over the BBQ and washes off every 3 or 4 days in the lake :-)
