Interesting route choices : it seems you did not go through the tunnel but came back the same way from your track?

My track was 17.25 miles your 17.3 so we were similarly efficient ; I tried to avoid any extra climb as much as possible

Right, I did not go back through the tunnel. Although if I had known about the little trail on the east end I probably would have.

Similarly I tried to avoid unnecessary climb. I was beat up pretty badly by last years event so I was trying to be efficient and a little conservative. You still seemed to fly by me on the course. That said, I had a similar, small amount of lost time to last year, but was 30 seconds faster per mile. So even though I left a little in the tank, I was faster overall. (Do you have heart rate data? I'd be interested to see that for comparison). I definitely felt better this year.

Nice strategy . I had a few minutes of errors ( reading ahead too far and then acting on it (3 controls early) )

Sorry didn't have HRM on ; might have picked up your HRM as we passed though!
