What kind of drive train do you have? Like, is it 3 x 9, or 2 x 10? I will get some quick links.

Do you have a chain break tool? Bring it if you do! I don't have one but I know how to use it!

For those of us who ride alone a lot, it's worth having a bike multi-tool that includes a chain tool. For a race, you only need one for a team but in real life, I carry it all the time. (Well OK, only when I'm biking.)

I find riding with someone who carries the multi-tool, (and every other tool) and knows how to use them, say for example Bent, is the best way to fix bike problems :) Would likely make your race pack considerably heavier though.
