Yes, that is true fame :)
Hey, it's not every day you get to see your name in big letters on WorldOfO! And, at least based on my personal usage statistics, that must be one of the world's top five favorite websites (just behind AP, of course)!!
This is true! He does a great job with that blog!
Wooooo; go, Sam!! Was the person to whom Ross lost you in a rock, paper, scissors contest at a WOC banquet Portuguese? I forget.
Ummm... I also forget :) I don't think so?
Indeed. A very nice description of what orienteering is like in the US, Sam.
I'm pretty sure that I lost Sam to Christian Bobach, a Danish orienteer. But we have all lost to the Portuguese in the beer relay events which often are WOC-adjacent.
Thanks! It was hard to describe orienteering in the US. I almost wanted to say, "Want to get an idea of US Orienteering, read the discussion posts on attackpoint!" I tried to focus on the positives and even when asked what it takes to grow the sport in the US - I feel like one could write a paper and still have no idea! So I chose one idea and went with that.
