I had a compass, but didn't use it at all, almost not necessary in Brioness.
Don't forget, contours are 7.5 meters on this map
You're right, I shouldn't need a compass. But lately I've been depending on the compass a lot to check my alignment and narrow the number of objects I need to consider.
So I've developed bad habits (small field of vision, sloppier map reading). But I didn't notice bad habits until I took away the compass.
I think I'll go without compass next week too, to improve my technique.
