Must have been satisfying to get through it after the injury management. Well done. How's the body?

Thanks! And yes, super satisfying to make it through the race well. Everything went mostly as expected body wise. Felt strong on the bike, good on the paddle, OK on the trekking with some minor foot issues likely due to just lack of mileage. All manageable though.

Unfortunately I took a bit of a header of the MTB early on day two and fractured the radial head in my left elbow and sprained/tore the ulnar collateral ligament. Getting my MRI tomorrow to find out how bad the UCL is. Finishing the race probably wasn't the brightest idea but I'm REALLY glad I did.

This 40th year of life is turning out to be both painful and expensive!

I second that, awesome job! I am proud of you for coming back so quickly and finishing another CT, and sounds like it was a doozy. Very sorry to hear about your elbow, though. Crazy!

Oh no! Ugh, so sorry to hear about your elbow! Broken bones midrace aren't fun. Kudos on keeping going, and so strongly, too!

Dude, you apparently missed the lesson about playing safely. I guess there's no fixing that now :) I hope they find a fast and economical way to fasten you back together, and that you heal quickly.

That's a nasty looking bow! Way to push through that for a great race. Hope it heals quickly and the UCL didn't take too much damage.

Well just got word from the doc that there is NO UCL damage. Apparently only a nasty sprain that 2.5 days of additional racing made look a lot worse. Six weeks of "if it hurts don't do it" and the fracture should be all healed up.

Jaypers fair play pushing on through that.

Rough year for you injury wise, heal well!

but bummer that you can't swim.
