Where are you staying? Bush camping, caravan parks or pubs? Just curious.

A mix depending on where I am - bush camping in the remoter parts. In the pub at Quilpie.

I swam across the flooded river at Quilpie some years back whilst bike touring ...then got SES guys in boat to retrieve my bike + trailer. Rode into Toompine whilst rd closed and the publican wasn't impressed that I hadn't bought some alcohol for him.
Yowah was a no alcohol zone at that time at residents request. I then rode direct on indistinct tracks to Eulo.

Was Yowah an Aboriginal community then? Something which has surprised me is the almost total lack of them so far - the only two obviously Aboriginal people I've seen have been the tour guide at Mungo and the spa attendant at Yowah. Expect this will be very different in places like Bourke and Cunnamulla.

No Yowah very much a white community. Best place to stay in Bourke is outside it at North Bourke C Pk ...pretty rough in town at night

I'd also got the idea that North Bourke was the better option.
