Out and Backs are COOOL!!
I perfer than a loop
1- Chance to focus on your feeling and clear you head (less concentration needed)
2- Always feel better on the way back (when you warmed up and its easier to notice)
3- Always faster on the way back (unless its all down hill the first half?)
4- No risk of getting lost (unless your daft)
5- Able to get further (10km run = 5 out as far a poss compaired to a round)
6- Unlimited routes (a loop always has to be a loop, out and back can go anywhere)
7- Easy to trick your own mind to train more when your tired (you can kid yourself its only out then remember you need to get home)
8- If your running somewhere nice, you get the chance to see it twice
9- Can do it anywhere with out knowing the area.
10- No prep needed
My tip --- always look to the right the the view will always be different!

On the other hand, in this particular case, a new route is quite nice since my regular is through Kapellskär port area. One km of black smoking trucks and diesel vapours...
