So, when we normally ride to just the first cabin by the lake, is that ride considered "Keystone"? Is Standard Basin after that first cabin?

Damn Albertans ;) (sorry they wrecked Frisby ridge, sincerely (I'm guessing it was Alberta Long Weekend traffic last year))

Keystone Basin is the first open basin (we've scrambled up Keystone Peak before). Standard Basin is beyond the cabin so most people have never made it there. Lots of people just call the trail Standard Basin though not realizing the distinction.

I make fun of Rich because he for a few years thought "keystone" and "standard" basins were two different trails so we would joke that it was keystone in one direction and standard in the other.

I was surprised by the traffic but the out of province plates made sense as likely vacationers and with Frisby closed more traffic on Keystone. Incidentally ran into Miles and Betsy(?) in town today who were heading there themselves today...

Frisby had some issues before the Labor Day long weekend but the combo of events (trail work, very wet weather, cool but sunny fall, heavy trail traffic) didn't help. Lots of locals out riding last September too...

A few spots just need a significant repair - no easy re-route so likely capping of some sort.
