So those rankings were for the summer only. Here is some quick math for Scandi and Nor-Am countries for winter and summer together
Population per medal:
Finland: 11, 678
Canada: 77, 614
The US has won a lot of medals without dipping into the pool of athletes that focus on US football, baseball and basketball. And, sure, hockey.
If the can US can dominate Nordic Combined for a while, they can win at any sport.
Maybe Canada should only count females.
Boys need to be taught that they can grow up to be strong and athletic, just like girls do! ;)
I'm sure Week 2 will bring us some medals in male events.
