With bells on. I don't care if I have to quit my job to do it...have told G that we are going to Denmark, Sweden & Iceland.

Also, NZ 2017. Are you & S coming? If I'm going to look for a share house, I'd better book accommodation soon!

It didn't help that last night I 'went' to Estonia via Travel by Drone. Had interesting trip over Tallin!

Did you buy any (virtual) cheap vodka like the Finns do when they go to Tallinn?

By the way, I have been wondering what you can tell me about this year's Christmas 5-days.

Nah - but had that experience on the ferry to Sweden on mid Summer's Day - lots of clinking of bottles in carry bags.
re Christmas 5 day What would you like to know?? Having trouble with permissions!!

Just wondering whether I/we want to come up to Newcastle for a few days after Christmas in Penrith.

It's got 3 days of MTBO!
Aug 10, 2016 11:48 AM #
It certainly does! That's just for tRicky and Tash and some other people eg PowA (got to mention him!).
Jenny - current planning is 1 day urban sprint/maybe ultra depending on where it ends up, and 4 days bush around Cessnock. As I said, permissions a problem. Had a totally new map ready and then denied permission - though trying to persuade for a change of heart. Apparently very different terrain to usual Newcastle.

Looking forward to the MTBO! Just got to book our flights :) YAAAAY!

tRicky promised he's have a job by then - over 'ere!!!
Aug 11, 2016 8:58 AM #
Please!! I'd like to move over there!

I won't have a job on the east coast by Christmas but I'll be damned if any prospect of employment is going to stop me from going to Newcastle at Christmas time!

Shame about the permission issue although any foot map over there is going to be new territory for me. I have ridden at the Mining Mystery map before though (at last year's trials).

Any idea if we'd make it back to Sydney airport by 3pm on the 31st after the final event? Virgin's last flight on that day (that Tash has points for at least) is at that time, otherwise I could leave Tash behind and fly back later on my own.

I might stay to watch the new years eve fireworks :)

tRicky - pretty sure you'd be right for that time. Usually we'd be looking at say a 10:30 presentation so if you picked up your mountain of prizes beforehand you should be OK - but what is the check in time? Can arrange an early start - PowA would understand.

I don't think I've ever won a prize at the 5 Days, not even a spot prize.

We're still looking at flights. Somehow the only flight Tash can get with points for that day is the 3pm one, which flies via Adelaide, but I didn't have that option available when I was looking at paid flights with the same airline, which seems a bit odd.

You can drive back to Adelaide with us and fly home from there...

I'd probably have time. I'm fairly confident of still being unemployed at Christmas time given I've been contacted by two recruiters this week about potential jobs but mentioning the China trip at the end of September seems to have put them off, can't think why. It's Catch 22 being unemployed - I feel the need to fill my time with races to alleviate the boredom but then when a job does come along, I'm not available for it and so the cycle continues.
