I know you sometimes look for longer hills to train on...and I came across one on my bike ride yesterday. Have you ever tried The Grange Side Road between Creditview Road and MacLaren Road?

Well spotted! Yes, that's a great hill for training although it can be a little uncomfortable to share with vehicles. Most of it is closed in winter so if there isn't much snow, it's a fun place to run hills.

There is a ride we do from CHC into the subdivision west of Inglewood and onto trails partway up the escarpment. We come out onto the Grange Rd. (you may have seen the gated driveway for the gravel pit halfway up on the south side) and ride uphill and turn north on Creditview, then take trails from the dead end to Belfountain for a snack. Parts of it feel like an AR ATV trail, even though I've never seen ATVs there.

A few years ago, I did some hill tests around here. I believe the MacLaren Side Trail is closed now, unfortunately. I'm always looking for new places and I think I may have found a gem near Kilgorie last weekend!

That's the ride Goose and I did a few weeks ago. I think I invited you ;)
Here's the map.
Slightly different and more technical (from km 8-12) ride back:

My brake pads were quite worn down, so going down the gravel road of Grange was a bit of an issue (did a nice back wheel slide out while going around a bend). Good to know about those trails near CHC - nice to mix in road and trails when out and about.

There is lots to explore up there on the hill. I don't know of a good trail map but you could ask CHC if they know of anything. Or just do like I do and wander randomly. :) Maybe they show up on Strava Heat Map.
