You forgot to mention in your report that you CRUSHED it!!!! Congratulations!

Fyi people, Trav was 50th of over 600 racers and 4th of 61 in his age category. And he doesn't live in the mountains and he just decided to do this on a whim. Yes, it's OK if you hate him just a little.

I'm pretty sure Trav lives right by Canterbury Mountain, a foothill of K2

Hey Trav! I just found out that the 46K race was won by an orienteering friend of mine from Switzerland - Marc Lauenstein. Etoile and I had a good chat with him at the Swiss Orienteering Week (he too is building a house at the moment). While he still does a lot of orienteering (top 3 at swiss O Week) the depth of Swiss orienteering is so high it is very hard for him to make the World Champs anymore (he won a few medals about 8 years ago) so he switched his attention to mountain running. He is doing very well and is only 35.

A really really nice guy and I believe 'bent has met him or talked to him too since Marc is also a dentist.

I wish I was that fast a runner or that good an orienteer! He must be a heck of a dentist too.
