| candyman: | 1 in 4? I guess I should know what this means.... but I don't... |

| KingTim: | Which half marathon are you doing Mike? |
| # Posted 2007-10-05 13:18:54 | |
| MikeS: | It's a run that Hallamshire do on Thursday nights. 15 mins flat, 25 mins uphill (at a gradient of about 1 in 4) and then 25 minutes downhill again. Starts off steady (ish!) and gets faster.
Tim - running Worksop on 28th October so not got long! |

| KingTim: | Plenty of time! You got a target time in mind? |
| # Posted 2007-10-05 13:36:47 | |
| MikeS: | I would like to get under 80 minutes. I've never properly run a half before so it's going to be new territory. |

| KingTim: | I'm sure, looking at your training speeds etc. you'll do sub 80. If I can do 80.29 you'll surely better that. Just make sure each mile (which will probably be marked) is 6 mins or under! |

| MikeS: | Thanks! Fingers crossed... |

| Jubby: | Don't do a Jubby special. My first half was the Great North - started from the elite pen and went through the first 5k in 15:09 - was walking through the drink stations by 11 miles.
Managed around 71, but a very painful way to do it. Suggest you aim to be comfortable (eg speedy training session) at 7 miles and race the second half. |
