Wonderful that it all (eventually) worked out.
When my parents died, my brother & sister and I had no arguments about who would get what; if two of us wanted something we easily resolved it. Some stuff we'd already claimed years before (my brother got my grandfather's grandfather clock; sister got all the church-y china; I got the Norwegian-patterned hearts & pines dishes). Most of it none of us really wanted but it was great to get a few things that had sentimental value.
I've since heard many horror stories of families who don't get along so well when it comes to dividing up the stuff. I am pretty happy we did. So much nicer that way, right?
