Mine ended badly in Norway. It ended better in Finland.
Mine also ended twice and every once in a while I play with the idea of another "last WOC", so you never know. Take a break if you want, but you may have a come-back someday...
You have good points - I am terrible at quitting things. I mean, I quit skiing in 2009, and look how that's turned out :)
But I do need a break, at least from the high-pressure environments. When you finish interval workouts thinking to yourself how happy you are that you'll never have to do another session like that, probably means it's time to hang up the shoes, at least for a bit.
Been there! Taking a break is a very good idea!
The problem with taking a break is you will get fitter as your body recovers and then you will be tempted into training again. ;p
Agreed. But that's not really a problem...
I would really like to do an epic mountain marathon race with you next spring. That is a goal but not an epically competitive one!
oooh... are there such things in this country, or do we have to go to the UK?
Ed could organize one at Harriman.
I've always wanted to do the one in Iceland but I'm not sure if it's a recurring thing or not!
They also exist in Sweden...
The Barkley Marathons? Oh, wait, we need you alive so you can serve on the OUSA Board.
