Hopefully you tired him out for WT! :-)

Well, he did ride again today - to work, so he's getting in better bike shape. But unlike your ride to work, it is a relatively short ride. You on the other hand must be a lean mean fighting machine with all your commuting distance - and no bakery en route. If WT has a bakery or ice cream bar as a destination Goose will be focused and very competitive.

He'll be all over that - make sure you bring "Big Feet" for him, or "Sour Keys".

That's not news that Goose can paddle! :) I've never seen it, but the legends echo loudly all the way out to the west. I was nervous as heck trying to fill Goose's shoes in an Ontario race with inevitable paddling and portaging. Fortunately it wasn't a huge element in last year's race... phew!
Yep, with Goose in your boat, you can sleep, eat, rest up, read a book, while the "motor" races you across the water.

Promise him ice cream at the finish line so that there are no delays or distractions and he is entirely focused on finishing as quickly as possible.

I plan to catch up on my trashy magazine reading while 'we' paddle!
