Dash:
Headed to the Raid Gasepie in Quebec next week. Looking forward to some beautiful scenery, biking, paddling, trekking, lots of ropes and some swimming.
I've never been to that region before. Anybody have some gear-specific recommendations? And if you have participated in this race before, I would like to hear your thoughts on race strategy with this RD. My team goal is to have fun first, but we'll still push hard and see where we end up.
We are in a hotel between day 1 and 2, then camping nights 2 & 3, and back to a hotel following the banquet. I am looking forward to sleeping with the stage format. Weather forecast looks promising, cool and dry.
The RD puts out some excellent videos and photos from prior year races. Worth a quick look if you have not seen them on FB or their website.
I will drop some comments/reviews following the race for those interested in next year's event.

Hey Dash, how was RIG? I've never really heard much about it before but am thinking about adding it to the calendar next year. What did you think? How was the format compared to a standard 24hr or expedition?

I'll put up a write up on the FB Adventure Racing discussion forum, and copy that here. Sometime in the next week or two. Overall I would recommend it!

If you don't mind, please add it to the other discussion thread. That's probably where most people will see it in future.
