The corridors in the maze were a bit narrower than previous years, so that would have contributed
Thanks for planning: this is a fun event, and I see the IOF are considering it as a WOC discipline. Maze routes were also more twisty than usual, if a bit formulaic going back to the cross each time.
I still get caught out not planning a route out, especially with the OOB block adjoining the maze.
BTW - some of the controls outside the maze seemed really slow, I had to go back a couple of times which never usually happens with a fast dibber. Jane commented on it too, and Caban couldn't get some to work at all: was there a thing.
I wanted the maze to be a bit more open than it has been in the past and the result was that it became a bit more formulaic.. I don't think the West side with the triangles was very well utilised either and if I was doing that maze again I'd redo that section.
I loved the OOB block, thought that worked very well and really added to some of the route choices (although some people didn't even see it as a potential which is a shame)
Have seen email chain about the controls, hopefully get some resolution to that but thank you for the input
