Thanks Blair. The water related natural disasters in Canada in the last few years are hard for the public to ignore. The proposal was very well written. I'm a co-lead on the water and ecosystems theme. There are four other themes in the project.

On the environment front there was also a huge funding announcement for oceanography out of Dalhousie,
some energy projects out of Alberta and mining out of Laurentian. Add in the astrophysics and numerous medical projects and the total investment was $900M.
