Heya! I have no plants in the house (except the tulips and seedlings in spring), and just three at the office: two pathetic cacti and a jade that's been blooming continuously for 3 years now. Its lovely, but I have no idea how it happened. I think it has the fear of death. Reading about it I guess its proper drying between waterings and proximity to a cold window in winter. I re-pot it in fresh mix every couple of years. I've also been overwintering Balter's "magic bean plants
" (lower left, species unknown) and some potted catnip - for the cat - in the house, but its purely survival mode until they can go out in the spring.
So what do you have in mind for inside? Do you have any south facing windows? I've always wanted to try some Bonsai, but even most of those need outside time.
Your proxy asparagus
is going gang-busters
! Its greatest enemies are the cats, who appreciate the nice mulch and privacy
. First harvest next spring!
