Awesome! Anna didn't know, but wondered if gender might play a role? I think the darker one has been lying on his (her?) back and sunbathing his (her?) belly...

Otherwise it could be just a genetic recessive trait (like red hair), not unheard of but not common. Like leucistic birds and piebald deer.
