Meanwhile it seems physical fitness testing for the AFP job I applied for occurs during September. Oh well. Next part of the assessment is in Canberra anyway, with travel paid for at my own expense - it sucks I cannot claim tax deductions for all these medicals, driving lessons and travel I've been doing to attempt to get jobs, not that I have any income to deduct them from.
Should be able to claim when you get the job.
That's not how tax works. Trust me, I worked in tax for 4.5 years and Tash works in it now. You can only claim if the expense relates to your present job.
I know all too well. BUT you should...
Tash would be furious!
Anyway instead of spending the afternoon celebrating, I've spent a couple of hours searching for my 1st Aid certificate that I'm meant to take with me on Sunday. Supposed to take the original and a copy but can't for the life of me find it. At least I was able to download the copy that I attached to the original application, which I know I scanned only about a month or so ago so it must be around...
Ooop sorry Tash. And my daughter-in-law probably wouldn't approve either (she is a lawyer for the same "company" as Tash)
Holy carp I found my 1st Aid certificate! Time to start celebrating again (and put it in a safe place this time instead of under a pile of paper on the table) :-) Shame I wasted most of the afternoon.
Good news - congratulations - you needed something to go your way :-) BTW I checked 2/3 of the LDC tapes today and they're all fine - will clean up the rest on Sunday
