Thanks! The necessarily slower pace certainly helped, as I was able to keep reading as I trundled along as fast as I could, but I also tried to use the sprint rules as much as possible. Some things I tried to focus on: keeping my head up and looking for direct micro-routes, minimizing the amount of time I was "heads down" looking at the map, and making easy route choices quickly while using longer legs to really plan the short/tricky legs. It felt like I had more than enough time to plan and execute each leg, so the challenge in the spring will be to maintain that same flow while moving (hopefully much) faster.
