This is the easiest thing to train. Do it while sitting on the sofa or do it while on the training or do it while running intervals. All will help find those route choices. Preferably analyze routes where you can also access the GPS data afterwards from old Euro races.
I'm going to do some route choices where I first time myself to pick a route and then afterwards analyze my thoughts and reasoning, and then ques to have helped me pick the right one.
Is there anything additional that I should do?
As soon as XC is done I'm going to really try to start incorporating this into my workouts. I can have a route and do it after each stride and then add it in to my rest in intervals. I'll just need to stock up on some Finnish maps and print them out at school.
