I've got some kludged up closet flanges that are very structurally sound. I think the plumber who eventually sees them is going to wonder about me.
My sister's been volunteering at a Hillary field office, and I got a call about drilling into brick and mortar. The office's resident dude had tried drilling with a masonry bit in a regular drill and had gotten nowhere. He overtemped the bit and it was basically useless. I took over my hammer drill and some Tapcon-brand masonry screws I had laying around. He had never used a hammer drill, so I let him do it. It's mind-blowing compared to the wrong tool---Like 1 hour to get 1/8 inch deep versus 15 seconds to drill 2.5 inches. (These were 1/8" or 3/16" diameter holes, so pretty small and quick.)
So, yes, I helped hang a great big Hillary sign on a storefront. I would have posted it on Facebook except some of my older relatives might have died of embarrassment.
