I hadn't previously checked the prices. NZ$295 + NZ$69 'athlete registration fee' works out at about A$340 plus a yet to be disclosed bus shuttle fee (unless you buy the silver or gold packages, where it's included), then an additional fee if you want to do another sport (e.g. MTB in my case), which will probably also charge another fee for entry.

I'm treating the exchange rate as 1:1. Mind you, that entry fee equates to only about 1 night's worth of accommodation...finding a (potentially shareable) house to hire for WMG week has proven impossible.

Well I'll let you know if I'm in the market although by the time I know about any jobs, I'm sure the whole of NZ will be occupied. Looks like neither of my preferred job options will commence until after April but that does leave a little cash problem...
