... better? :)

worrying that so many recent events have crap maps, and crap control sites & courses. eg. godshill, CC, and now this.

We need to ENJOY our sport. I may stick to Urban now?

I wouldn't stick to Urban, there is still something infinitely more satisfying about spending a day in the forest. But yes, I agree, it is a bit worrying that the last three events I have run at, the maps have been a bit dodgy to put it mildly. Tyntesfield was so much better! Ok, so maybe not the most technical area, but a pleasure to run through forest you can run through without tearing your legs to shreds. Ok, so it also helps having run there a few times too, and it helps that "sidelands" will always hold a special place in my heart. (I still remember a few control locations from that event back in January 1989, when I came second to an M. Britton... any relation to Tim perhaps? Seems likely...but apparently not.....)

But ultimately the courses were good, it was an interesting variety of things, I thought the map was just fine although granted I am sure that there could be a few minor corrections in places, but can't there always. In the end, I saw a lot of people smiling, and everyone I chatted to as they came through the gate had had a great time. For me THAT is what it is all about.....
