Have a great time!!! Say hi to baboons for me!!

Thanks! Will do.

We saw a few baboons near the airport road. I assume they wanted to say hi to you.

Already! wow. Have fun!

While it's possible there are baboons who aren't assholes and would want to say hi to Boris I think it's more likely that they just wanted to steal shit from you.

Don't they shit enough themselves? When do they need to steal more? Did they already throw all of their own?

Well, part of my job in Namibia was collecting their droppings for analysis, so maybe they are bitter and want to steal them back...

Maybe they think shit is valuable, because why else would you take it? And so they want to take some back, because baboons.

I am sure Zan will be thrilled to return to her log and find this discussion...

I saw about 30 baboons today. Lots of screeching - one also was probably humping another that it caught, didn't look consensual. They looked cool walking across the dry lake bed with their tails up.

The modern world is weird. I'm sitting in our campground watching the watering hole (on the other side of an electric fence). Just saw a bunch of zebras, onyx, kudu, tiny antelope-like thibgs, and 3 hippos. Last night we saw two lions here, which was awesome. Note - the hippos look like rocks. And I'm also posting to attack point. (Note - I had to get inline to buy plane tickets from Egypt to Chile for late Nov, and figured it would be more fun with zebras in the background).

Giraffes are great. So stately and graceful.

Also, found a place dryer than California. 2 year drought...and they didn't start with much rain in the first place.

Our 4x4 truck with 2 tents on top is awesome (Jonas' parents joined us in Namibia).

So cool that you guys are doing this!!!! Keep posting updates! Chile sounds amazing too. Are there a lot of direct Cairo-Santiago flights? :)

Mmm...our travels are definitely not planned for flight efficiency. Cairo to Santiago is going to be a LONG day that also includes Abu Dhabi and Sao Paolo airports. Shockingly, it doesn't seem to be a super common flight path ;)

Theoretically you could have one stop in Paris or Rome in between, but for an additional $1400 per person.

I think the epic travel days are a kind of adventure too. LONG days with stops in Abu Dhabi and Sao Paolo just mean there is a lot of time to teach strangers how to play "Contact", amiright? :)
