I saw that yesterday, too. Very much enjoyed it, both the sports angle and the Africa angle.
I haven't seen it, but the trailer looked quite good. I also heard a couple of the actresses interviewed on the radio, which was interesting.
I read the book a while ago and enjoyed the story, thinking would be a good movie done right. Can't stop wondering what happened to her and the others since the book was written.
At the end of the movie, they had the actor next to the real person, with a written side blurb about what the real person was doing.
Are you going to reveal? Or make me go see it?
Wikipedia suggests she's (unsurprisingly) going to school and playing chess. Go see the movie anyway.
She graduated from college this spring. You'll have to see the movie to find out how the rest of the people are doing. ;-)
The movie shows more recent events than the book; at one point there's a poster for the book that they mention.
Graduated from college? Seems like she was 9 or 10 in the book so many chess pieces over the edge. But then it takes time to write the book, get reaction , and then do the movie.
I think she was 10 in 2005. So, yeah, 21 now.
Nancy I always stay and watch the credits, and this was a movie where it was definitely worthwhile. Number One Spice!
Yup, me too! That was a fun reward.
