I wondered where you've been. That's an amazing accomplishment.
You can read all the boring details on my blog: http://frantic-oreo.blogspot.com/
Lots of nice photos here and there, though. Well done, Fred.
An amazing accomplishment! I had my doubts when it seemed you were having leg problems in the Whites and in Maine, but then down South you just kept putting in the miles, and the states.
Dare I ask, what's next?
Nothing planned at the moment, but lots of possibilities--Trans Adirondack hike, Long Trail, Camino de Santiago, or the Cohos Trail are all worth thinking about.
Saw Criesi at the service for Leslie, he said you might be going on a pilgrimage. :-)
Congrats Fred, really impressive. I enjoyed checking in on your blog now and again for all the great photos!
Didn't realize until perusing your blog that you had been out on the trail the past few months. You again have joined the ranks of a few to accomplish a great feat.
I also followed your hike thru your email link for the past few months. Thanks for taking me along!
Had often wondered about the derivation of "Frantic Oreo"; and now that you are here on AP, "Fanatic"...pretty much the same letters in the F word:-).
An explanation for the trail nom de plume?
My little flashlight business goes by the name Photon Fanatic, Inc., hence my use of Fanatic in various places.
For the AT hike, I needed a name when I started my blog. The first word that came to mind that began with 'F', was Frantic and then for some unexplainable reason, Oreo came to mind next. When I Googled that combo, it had only been used twice before, and not as a trail name. :-)
