The only way I've figured out is to upload the photo to some free website like Flickr and then provide a link to it in your log.

Yeah, I used to do that with picasa until they killed it. I tried Flickr a while back and didn't seem to be having much success. I guess I'll try again.

I'm still using picasa successfully. They changed the name (although the old name links to the new place), and it works a little differently, but it still works for me.

I recommend Google Photos. You can take a photo with your phone, and can access it from the your computer or any other device that has access to your Google drive.
