..was definitely the middle distance runner to look up to. I remember both him and the amazing times he ran (on a cinder track) - I´d say 3.33 is still a respectable time for 1500 as is his WR 1.44,2 on 800 from 50 years ago!

I remember him writing about coming home from track practice and collapsing on his bed. He worked hard to get his times.
