I definitely know what you mean. Good job getting out there! Looks fun!

Also, Lucas Basset??? What? How cool! Is he moving to Uppsala?

Lucas and Vincent and likely Milos and a couple of Swiss up-and-comers Joey and Simon. Also Ken Peeters is switching to Linné this year. So yes, exciting times. Also somewhat controversial and discussed, because this will certainly break from the unwritten tradition of placing the premium on "being around" aka living in Uppsala or having lived in Uppsala for a big chunk of time. However, I am supportive of this development, because of the guys that have reached out to us. These guys are eager to be a part of the training culture and the social culture of the team, we haven't prepped the contracts yet, but we are proceeding cautiously, since this sets a precedent and has the potential to be viewed negatively.

We did not actively recruit, but having Oskar, Rassmus and Albin as walking endorsements of the training environs is nice. We are also curious to see what happens once this gets spread around a bit more. Will more athletes show interest, will equally high profile women reach out? UK's job gets a bit harder, as they need to decide how to make it all work.

Wow, that's very exciting! It is great to provide Rassmus, Albin, and Oskar with a supporting cast that can contend for the very top spots at the big relays the next few years. They have been close, but never really with a realistic shot at a win. Maybe this will change things.

I understand the difficulty of these decisions, for sure. I guess this means that the new guys are not planning to move to Uppsala? Seems like a really exciting development, and probably a necessary one if the club is to compete with the KR's, KooVee's, and Haldens of the world.

That was Anders Boström's point (acting as ESEK sammankallande just now), he said we either should acknowledge the level that we are up against, and aim for a realistic finish at the big relays, or we should be more open to allowing outside runners to gain a spot on our first teams.... but that having the stated aim of winning the big relays without the necessary 5-10 top names was just wrong.

It was pretty exciting at Jukola this year though... with 6 great runs. Winning together as a small community is7would be such a sweet thing.
