Your statement on delaying the extended route between work and home feels wrong somehow, and out of character. I'd expect more of a "let's up it to 9 right now, and look for other options to extend it even further to use as a New Year's resolution" philosophy from you.
Of course, I'm in no position to be challenging your training plan, given my sluggish approach these days.
Was intrigued by the Arsenault reference - so googled it and saw it more than just Ernst honoring my many forays into College Woods...
3 of my 5 siblings spent considerable college years in the Durham area, but somehow I think the link it some far distant relative rather than my immediate family (unless there is a plaque somewhere reading "On this spot in the early 1980's brothers Andy and Paul Arsenault were apprehended after creating a disturbance by tipping cows while under the influence of spirituous liquors.")
The training would be easy to do, it's the lack of discipline related to work - I always seem to have last minute unfished business to do before I can hit the trail....
