That's incredible. How did Mike learn so much so quickly about orienteering? How can OUSA help similarly interested people build programs like this? Would it be helpful if people from the community reached out and said hello, e.g. other members of the Senior team?

I don't think they've gone to any IS Champs yet; see if you can convince them to go to TX in March.

Yup, already mentioned it. I think they'll go with two varsity teams.

Nice to hear it, hope to see them at the IS. They may also be interested in getting some kids to the GOAT or TJOC summer camps.

Nice! I talked a little with a couple of the Patriot kids when they were here for NOCI. Their uniforms were impressive.

There is a large cadets orienteering scene in Ontario. Annual champs are near Base Bordon near Barrie but not super interesting terrain. 14 years and running by Doug Innes. Several hundred participants each year.

I've always thought it would be cool to take the top teams to West Point each spring. Actually West Point would be a great spot for a National cadets challenge Cup or something like that.

Agreed - we had a great turnout from cadets when we did US Interscholastics there...how cool would it be to have an international challenge?

Ah, great! I've been seeing the kids in their Patriot uniforms (really nice) and wondered where they were from. I figured they were NJROTC as we have several groups of them around here. Pretty impressive work the chief is doing!

Love the post race reports. And the trimtex kits (good to feel part of a team). And altogether just sounds great. Cool that they enjoyed the Sweden & Japan maps too. Great that you made the time to go there :)
