My hip gets better as it warms up and Physio said that's a classic sign that it's just a tendon strain rather than muscle/joint etc. so ice each evening and 'strengthening while in a healthy state' was what he generally prescribes for tendon... Best strengthening for tendon damage is currently thought to be isometric (no movement load) and slow eccentric (lengthening/going down)

Thanks doc. Yeah I'm icing it evenings and avoiding intervals. Other than that just keep on running (supporting it with kinesio tape), gradually increasing weekly volume and making sure it does not hurt, hoping it will eventually go away :)
